About Hansa Haus

Hansa Haus Building

The Hansa Haus building on Hurontario Street in Mississauga, between Derry Road and Highway 401.

In 1958, the German Canadian Club Hansa began as a not for profit organization, or ‘club’, in a small restaurant in Brampton, Ontario. It was born of German immigrants who, while missing their homeland, were eager to embrace their new lives in Canada, and integrate into Canadian surroundings and culture. Integrating into that new world while preserving what they cherished so dearly of their German homeland was paramount, and inspired the forefathers of the German Canada Club Hansa to form the ‘club’ as we know it today.

The German Canadian Club Hansa has been an agricultural, physical and cultural landmark of the Brampton/Mississauga landscape for as many years as the citizens and visitors to these regions can possibly remember. Today, the membership has swelled to more than 550 members, and countless other individuals, groups and major corporations of all facets, now enjoy the facilities that have been built by the members of the German Canadian Club Hansa to celebrate their own milestones, year after year.

Whether you are interested in becoming a member or taking advantage of the fantastic facilities the German Canadian Club Hansa and its six decades of membership have built, we invite you to explore this web site and the versatility of our services and venues, and hope you will visit us soon to continue with our tradition of family and celebration and let us help you to create your own extraordinary memories.
